Beijing World Financial Centre

Located at the heart of Beijing's Chaoyang District, the city's Central Business District,Beijing World Financial Centre (wfc) is the first truly international Grade-A office complex in Beijing, and the only office building in the city with a column / wall free floor plate of 4,400 sqm. It was designed by Cesar Pelli, one of the world's most renowned master architects, whose other pioneering urban landmarks include the Beijing World Financial Center in New York, Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur and International Finance Centre in Hong Kong.

The distinctive crystal jewel boxes that comprise wfc's two 22-storey towers are a defining icon on the landscape of the Central Business District, providing a dazzling headquarter for global business and finance. The unique sparkling crystal walls (the jewels) in the main lobbies of each tower were designed by the award winning German artist, Michael Hammer, whose other acclaimed works include an installation in the Rockefeller Centre, New York.

As a substantial development in the centre of Beijing, wfc has been designed for optimum environmental-friendliness and is an impressive showcase for green building design and management philosophies and practices. Adhering to the highest possible Platinum standard has adhered to the highest standards of LEED and the development received awards and credits including the the highest possible "Platinum" rating from both the United States Green Building Council's LEED v4+ M:EB platinum certification and HK-Beam; and Asian Institute of Intelligent Buildings (AIIB) Certificate of Intelligent Building Index (IBI) Assessment "Distinction". wfc was honoured as one of the "Best Commercial Developments of Beijing CBD" in 2008 by the Beijing Central Business District.
